This Privacy Policy describes how Simple Stock Sync (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles data when you install and use the app on your Shopify store.
1. Who We Are
Simple Stock Sync is developed and operated by Ian Phillips, trading as Precision Tools & Tooling. Contact: admin@fullstackpretender.tech
2. What Data We Access
From Shopify
The app accesses the following Shopify data to perform inventory synchronisation:
- Product titles, SKUs, and variant information
- Inventory levels and inventory item IDs
- Location information (for multi-location mapping)
- Product tags (to identify exclusions)
We do not access or store customer data, order details, payment information, or any personally identifiable information about your customers.
From Xero
The app accesses the following Xero data:
- Inventory item (product) codes and quantities
- Tracked inventory status
- Inventory location data (if applicable)
We do not access invoices, bills, bank accounts, contacts, financial reports, or any other Xero data outside of inventory items and inventory adjustments.
3. How We Use Your Data
Data accessed from Shopify and Xero is used solely to:
- Match products between the two platforms using SKU / Product Code
- Read and write inventory quantity levels in the configured sync direction
- Identify products excluded from sync via tags or tracking status
- Create Xero inventory adjustments when required to align stock levels
We do not use your data for marketing, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the sync function.
4. Data Storage
The app stores only the minimum data required to operate:
- Your Shopify store domain and access token (to authenticate API calls)
- Your Xero OAuth tokens (to authenticate Xero API calls)
- App configuration settings (sync direction, exclusion tags, location mappings)
We store sync operation logs (timestamps, status, and messages) to provide sync history within the app. We do not store a persistent copy of your inventory quantities.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties, except:
- Shopify — as required to operate within the Shopify platform
- Xero — as required to read and write inventory data via the Xero API
No other third parties receive your data.
6. Data Security
All data transmission between the app, Shopify, and Xero is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. OAuth tokens are stored securely and are never exposed publicly.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your store. When you uninstall the app:
- Your Shopify access token is revoked
- Your configuration data is deleted within 30 days
- Any Xero tokens are invalidated automatically by Xero
8. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at admin@fullstackpretender.tech. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Shopify’s Role
Simple Stock Sync is built on the Shopify platform. By using Shopify, you are also subject to Shopify’s Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
